This page is provided to help users in acquiring data from the online version of the World Development Indicators, located at http://devdata.worldbank.org/dataonline/. For larger images of the screen shots below, please click on the image. A larger image will then appear in another window.
For a larger image, click on the picture above. First, select the countries you wish to investigate. To select more than one country, press "Ctrl" on your keyboard as you scroll down. Click "select" to move the chosen countries to the other column. Press on "next" to move to the step. Note that if you ever need to change or alter your choice or selection, you can simply click on the commands at the top of the screen (select countries, series, etc.) For a larger image, click on the picture above. Select the series of indicators in which you are interested. Press "select" once more to move the selections to the column below. For multiple selections, again press down the control key as you make your selections. For a larger image, click on the picture above. You are now ready to choose the years for your search. Select the necessary years and click on "next."
For larger images, click on the pictures above. Your selected data is now ready for your perusal. You
have several options for viewing and saving the data. You can change
the scaling and presentation of the data. You can also find out more
information about a particular measurement by clicking on the indicator.
Another box will open in the corner of the screen. You may only see
data for country at a time on your screen, but when you save the data,
all countries and series will be saved. Under "data export",
select "save as an Excel file". You can also select whether
you wish for the data to be presented by series or by countries. For a larger image, click on the picture above. Follow the directions on the next page. You can either directly open the Excel file on the site or save it to the directory of your choice by selecting "save target as . . .".
